Two Charged in Connection to St. Louis Avenue Shooting

The Zanesville Police Department says it was called to a report of a fight on Tuesday outside of a home at 817 St Louis Avenue.

Detective Phil Michel says while officers were responding to the call there was an additional report of shots fired in the area of that location. Michel says the victim and the suspect knew each other.

The detective says officers received information about a suspect vehicle and a traffic stop happened on Maple Avenue at Convers Avenue. Officers took the driver of the vehicle into custody without incident.

Michel says a firearm was recovered from the vehicle. Detective Michel says as a result of the investigation 38-year-old Willian Hardy is charged with Having a Weapon While Under Disability, Improper Handling of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, Aggravating Menacing and Possession of Criminal Tools. Hardy is was taken to the City Jail and his bond is set at $250,000.

38-year-old Tina Atkins has been charged with Obstructing Justice and has an active warrant for her arrest.
