ZANESVILLE – Charlie is a 2-year-old Staffordshire Mix. She is an athletic type and there are things to keep in mind if you would like to add her to your forever home.

“She has back spring-loaded legs. She can jump probably five or six feet so we’re going to have to be careful wherever the applicant or adopter lives. If you have a fence, you’re probably going to want to have a pretty high one because she’s very high energy. She has cat curiosity, as we say. She doesn’t seem to have any issues with cats but she’s very curious about cats,” Animal Shelter Society General Manager April Cohagen – Gibson said.

The Shelter will also soon be holding its Cat-a-palooza event.

“We have a cat-a-palooza coming up at the end of March. We don’t have that date set but, please, if you would like to be on that reservation list, call in and talk to our service representative and we will make sure to add you. It’s very important. We’re getting into the kitten season and we’re already overpopulated here in Muskingum County so we need people to know. So, we’re trying to do our part and we ask that everybody in our community does their part,” Cohagen – Gibson said.

The Shelter’s Yappy Hour is taking place on May 6th. People are asked to call the Shelter if they would like to sponsor or donate an auction item.
