Multiple dogs were rescued from a residence in Guernsey County after being abandoned by their owner.
The Guernsey County Sheriff said 46-year-old Cambridge resident, Gregory Graham, was charged with six counts of Prohibition Companion Animals and three counts of Abandoning Animal, all through the Cambridge Municipal Court.
The investigation began earlier this week when a dog warden with Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Karla Kerns was notified multiple dogs were inside a residence and that the owner had not been seen at the residence since the beginning of February.
Circumstances led Deputy Kerns to enter the resident to conduct a wellbeing check on the occupants. Once inside it was determined the owner had not been present for a lengthy time.
11 dogs were rescued from the residence with the help of the Cambridge Fire Department and due to the unsanitary nature of the living conditions were taken to the Cambridge Animal Clinic for treatment. Several other deceased dogs were also located inside the residence.
