ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Genesis Healthcare System has been lauded statewide for its effective implementation of vaccines.
Of the 86,000 Muskingum County residents 12,000 have received at least the first round of the vaccine. CEO Matt Perry credits the success to the vaccination center located in the Zanesville Colony Square Mall.
“One of the things Genesis has done to help make that happen is we’ve put a lot of resources into our vaccination center. We have a phenomenal team of people, very dedicated people who have really been making that center work very well. We’ve just been able to vaccinate an awful lot of people, so as the vaccine comes in we get into people’s arms,” Perry told WHIZ.
Genesis is vaccinating approximately 600 people per day at the center. The center is designed for speed and ease for patients and medical personnel alike.
“The Genesis Vaccination Center, at the old Elder-Beermans store, we have designed a very efficient process. It only takes people approximately 35 minutes to go from door to door. People are scheduled for it, there are several different stations that you go through, and people just walk right through that process,” Perry described.
Genesis also works in partnership with the Muskingum County Health Department, the Muskingum Valley Health Center and several local pharmacies. This coalition is committed to administering vaccines as quickly as they are received and they believe that their process will remain effective well into the future.
