ZANESVILLE – This is the 35th edition of the cake auction and it will take place on Wednesday, April 28th, and Thursday, April 29th. The auction will be done completely virtually.
“We’re happy with whatever we get but I would say the target is 400 is like where we average, so, yeah, we’re hoping that the community jumps right back and we didn’t have it last year so they’re great supporters in the past and we’d expect to have that again this year,” Cake Auction Chairman Scott Boyer said.
The center is very happy for the auction to return and its the biggest source to allow the board to fund its programs.
“It’s the biggest source of funds that we get all year long. It supports programs that we’re able to subsidize costs for people in the community who need services so its super important to us. We were able to find some grant funding last year and make things work but we are so happy to be back to it this year because this is going to enable us to do even more in our local community,” Carr Center Executive Director Becky Clawson said.
The auction will be broadcast live on WHIZ AM 1240.
