ZANESVILLE – The auction was presented live on WHIZ’s website and AM 1240. The long time program was a bit different, but, earlier today, Chamber President Dana Matz was pleased by the progress made by the festival.
“In the past, we would’ve had a room full of people bidding in-person and on the phones but our phones are staying busy. People are calling in. As our community does, they support each other and we have businesses supporting each other and we have community citizens that are buying these entries to support us and we’re just very happy and appreciative of all of the entries and all of the bidders,” Chamber President Dana Matz said.
While the program was ran unconventionally, it doesn’t take away from the relationships and support the Chamber gets from its businesses.
“Obviously, virtually, its different. We’re not getting all of the networking that we usually get where businesses are getting to talk to businesses while they’re here but the camaraderie; the 172 entries that came in shows the support that our business community has for each other and the Chamber (and) for that we’re very grateful,” Matz said.
This year’s Festival of Trees raised $51,060.
