MUSKINGUM – The traditional Miracle on Main Street event is cancelled because of the pandemic. However, starting tonight, more Christmas cheer will be on display for people in Muskingum County.

“Pack the family in the car and this way you can do this safely and do the social distancing and enjoy all of the beautiful lights. The Courthouse will flip the switch tonight and they will have their beautiful lights. Zane’s Landing, downtown Zanesville, New Concord, and also Dresden, and then, of course, when you’re out and about, take the opportunity to shop locally and enjoy all of the beautiful boutiques and stores that we have right here in Muskingum County,” Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Vice President Kelly Ashby said.

Although the display is different this year, the Chamber is happy to spread a little joy which is always well received by local residents.

“Again, I’m sure a lot of them will miss that the Festival of Trees is open to the public and there is not a formal ceremony with the flip of the switch but it’s still something that everyone can enjoy. The lights are still going to be sparking and the decorations are still beautiful,” Ashby said.

There are also virtual and interactive activities that are a part of Storybook Christmas and they can be found on www.visitzanesville.com
