ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A trip to the state tournament was on the line for three MVL schools, Tuesday afternoon at Eaglesticks Golf Club.
Tri-Valley, Sheridan and River View
In the end, Tri-Valley reigns supreme and claims the Boys Division I East/ Southeast District Title. The Scotties advance to the state tournament, the second time in school history, with a chance to become state champions.
As a team Tri-Valley shot 316, four strokes better than 2nd place Marietta.
Drew Johnson, the individual winner, lead the way for the Scotties with a 69.
Of course Johnson wasn’t the only reason Tri-Valley, as a team, came in first place. Jaret Talbot (80) finished in 7th. Daniel Sparks (82) came in 9th. Braden Smith (85) finished 15th. Cadan Pieper (88) was 20th.
Tri-Valley will compete for a state title on Oct. 23/24 at the OSU Scarlet Course.
River View had just one golfer on the course. Austin Bahmer (81) held his own for an 8th place finish.
Sheridan came in 7th as a team. Blaine Hannan led the Generals with an 87. Reed Coconis (88) was right behind and finished tied for 20th. Blake Turnes (90) placed 24th. Brody Border (93) and Cooper Winders (93) came in 34th place.
