MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio-The Muskingum County Community Foundation is looking for applicants for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship.
The scholarship is a five hundred dollar scholarship meant to cover the cost of textbooks. Manager of Educational Services Katie McCarty tells us the type of student who should apply for the scholarship.
“We are looking for any student who is of an ethnic background that is a senior in high school in any of the Muskingum County high schools. We are looking for someone who is on a CP or AP or college credit plus track, so anyone who has taken those advanced courses, who has at least an 18 on the ACT.”
This is the 27th year the scholarships are given away to area seniors. The application process is a very streamlined and easy process.
“They can apply on scholarshipcentral.org. If they just go on there it’s an online application, so they’ll be able to fill everything out online. The deadline is October 30th, so Friday, October 30th by 5 PM. they have to have everything turned in and have hit that submit button on the application.”
