Zanesville Fire Department Has Annual Golf Outing

Local News

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Zanesville Fire Department had its annual golf outing this morning at Vista Golf course.

The outing is a traditional golf scramble and had twenty-two teams participating. The annual outing is meant to benefit the department’s charitable endeavors for the year. Fireman and organizer of the event Josh Porter has the specifics of this year’s benefit.

“We do an annual golf outing, the local 88 does, to raise funds for our benevolent fund, which goes to several different things: kids in need at Christmas. A lot of it this year is going to one of our members whose spouse is battling cancer, so the funds from the gold outing this year will be donated to them.”

The scramble was accompanied by a picnic lunch for the families of those golfing. Sponsors for the event this year included City Tire, American Pride, Angry Bull Saloon and Heritage Fire Equipment.
