DRESDEN, Ohio – The dresden fire department, along with many of the area’s volunteer departments are looking for recruits.
EMS Lieutenant Mark Lewis says the department is looking for men and women over the age of 18-years-old who have a high school diploma and driver’s license.
EMS Captain Rachelle Tucker says working for a volunteer department can be used as a career stepping stone.
“Like he said, it’s really rewarding. You know, we all have families at home. We have our other commitments that we’re doing but like he said, this is a good stepping stone. ‘Cause from here you can go onto medic school, you can do flight medic, there’s all kinds of stuff really you can do from here. And I love my firehouse family so it’s a whole ‘nother it’s a whole ‘nother world. You get a new family out of it. You get lots of good experiences. “
