WWII veterans honored at Saturday breakfast

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The VFW on Putnam Avenue catered a breakfast to honor and show appreciation to area veterans.

The event was put on by the Veteran’s Appreciation Foundation.

World War Two veterans recieved quilts during the event.

Joe Stevens spoke about his time during the war with WHIZ. He says most people can’t imagine what he’s been through.

“I just appreciate the people that realize what we did.”

Joseph Pishner says he’s grateful for these kinds of events.

“This is unbelievable. I mean, these guys did a great job. A great group of people that honored us veterans unbelievably. It lets me know they appreciate what we did in the service.”

The VFW will hold another breakfast for veterans in March.
