ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Nominations for this year’s Brian T. Wagner leadership award are open.
“Nominations can be found on our website, the nomination form. They can go there and nominate someone. All they need is the contact information for that person and then we send a request to that person to fill out further information about what they’ve been involved in,” says Katie McCarty, Manager of Educational Programs at the Muskingum Co. Community Foundation.
Nominees are decided by their time spent living and working in Muskingum Co., and for improving the community. Each nominee must have successfully led a volunteer project and have a long history of volunteer leadership.
“The recipient of the award does get to choose one organization or charity that they would like a $1,000 to go to. So, they get to choose who they want that to go to, it’s usually their favorite charity,” McCarty adds.
The winner of the Brian T. Wagner Leadership Award will be presented with their name on the plaque to be displayed at the Foundation office. Awards are presented during the annual Groundhog Day celebration on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.
(WHIZ viewers & listeners are sure to recognize Brian in addition to his work at the Muskingum Co. Community Foundation.
