ZANESVILLE, Ohio — A holiday tradition returns to the Zanesville Muskingum County Welcome Center.

The Festival of Trees is now set up inside the welcome center in anticipation for the Friday radio auction.

“We have local business people, local citizens that all come together and this year, we have 223 entries. So, we have wreaths, stockings, you can see the trees behind me. Most of these come with an incentive. The beauty of this is, it’s the businesses that’s supporting their clients, the community is supporting the businesses,” says Dana Matz, Executive Director of the Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce.

“Live on WHIZ AM1240 starting at nine o’clock tomorrow morning, we will begin auctioning off the items. Every fifteen minutes we will have six to seven items and again ranging from trees to wreaths to stockings. As you can see, there are many wonderful entries, many creative people in our community. This event is a fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce,” Matz says.

The final auction item set to go on the radio tomorrow afternoon is a large tree contributed by WHIZ Media Group, valued at $2,800. It is set to be auctioned at 5:45pm.
