ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Several volunteers from Muskingum Behavioral Health create handmade decorations for the dining room at Christ’s Table.
“We come in to decorate for Thanksgiving Day tomorrow. We run a community service group at MBH a couple of times a week and the clients have actually made — all of the decorations and centerpieces today were handmade by our clients. We did this last year with Keely and we called again and they wanted us to do it again, so we did it. Last year, I actually delivered everything so this year the clients came with me to help deliver it and help decorate,” says Stephanie Hinds, of Muskingum Behavioral Health.
Volunteers we interviewed explain why they’re passionate about the occasion.
“I have a lot of gratitude toward this, just in the fact of giving back to my community. I’m a recovering addict, so I’ve taken from my community a lot, and I’m just really grateful to be able to help,” Miranda Ardetto, an MBH client, says.
“I’m just grateful to be able to give back. I’m a recovering addict, myself, also I’ve eaten here before and it’s nice to be able to come back and give back to my community,” says Shannon Dixon, another MBH client.
Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Thanksgiving Day, at Christ’s Table, 28 S 6th St., Zanesville.
