ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Dozens of runners and walkers gathered at Restoration Park on Muskingum Avenue for a race this morning. The total course was 200 steps.
Lori Wince from Friends of Putnam says money from the Weasel 200 will go toward events at the park.
“We had our second annual Weasel 200. Which is a 200-step dash from Restoration Park to Weasel Boy Brewing Company. It’s a fundraiser for the park program that we do in the summer. We do a movie series and we’re talking about adding music and perhaps even theater this year in the park so proceeds from the race helps us fund the programs.”
Runners and walkers got the chance to enjoy themselves after the race at Weasel Boy the venue also hosted a market.
“We also have the farmers market going on today — we did that last year as well — did it on the first Saturday of the farmer’s market. So again, we’re helping them and they’re helping us, right? So we’re helping with awareness of their event — the indoor farmer’s market — which runs through the second weekend of December. So it’s just a nice, fun day.”
This is the second year for the race.
