Based on the current weather forecast for the evening of Thursday, October 31st Mayor Brett Essex has postponed Trick-or-Treat activities for the Village of New Concord until Saturday, November 2nd from 5pm until 6pm.
The New Concord Area Board of Trade will still hold the Spooky Snapshots & Haunted Social Hour event in the Village’s Upper Fire House, accessed from Layton Drive, from 5pm to 6pm this evening.
Mayor Essex stated that “the safety and well being of the children in our community was the most important factor in the decision to postpone Trick-or-Treat. With high winds and heavy rains predicted for our area this evening we did not feel comfortable endorsing this event and putting our youngest residents at risk.”
