The Ohio State Highway Patrol says at 3:10 Saturday afternoon, two vehicles collided on State Route 60 near milepost 23, near Ash Meadows.

The Patrol says reports indicate Jacob Garven, 18, was driving a 2002 Chevy pick-up, went left of center and struck a 2006 Honda driven by Alec Slate, 22, of Dresden. A 16-year-old passenger in Garven’s vehicle was ejected from the pick-up while Branden Kallimanis, 18, was extricated from the vehicle by emergency responders.

All four of the people, the Patrol adds, involved were initially transported to Genesis Hospital. Jacob Garven and his passenger suffered serious injuries and were transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Branden Kallimanis also sustained serious injuries and was transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Alec Slate sustained moderate injuries and is being treated at Genesis.

Rain was a factor at the time of the crash.

Sgt. Jeffrey Jirles says none of the occupants of the pick-up truck were using their seat belts.

The incident remains under investigation.
