Author with Zanesville Roots, Now in Los Angeles, to Return for Keynote Talk

Local News

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Fans of author Stephen Markley will soon have the chance to meet him later this month, either at Vin Ami or Secrest Auditorium.

The Muskingum County Library System is organizing “An Evening With Stephen Markley” the evening of Oct. 24.

“He is not a local author; he’s from Ohio and lives in LA now, and he wrote a book called ‘Ohio’, kind of about the small town feel that goes on here. It’s a bunch of high school people coming back together years later and how it’s affected them and the paths they’ve taken,” says Erin Barlow, Adult Services Mgr. at the Muskingum Co. Library System.

Barlow describes what fans can expect that evening.

“I think they’ll just find a really nice environment. We’ll have food and tea and water, he just wants to meet and talk with the people in the community. He hasn’t been back to Ohio and it seems like he’s taking this time to do several appearances around Ohio and kind of reconnect with his family and friends in the area,” she adds.

A meet-and-greet is planned at Vin Ami, while Markley’s keynote will be delivered at Secrest Auditorium.
