Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week

Local News Stories

The Animal Shelter Society in Zanesville is always looking to find suitable homes for it’s furry residents.

Four-year-old dog Tucker is the current Pet of the Week.

Nancy Geiger, with the Animal Shelter Society Board of Directors, says Tucker has a friendly personality and enjoys being around people of all ages.

“He’s been neutered already; he’s ready to go to a loving family. He’s an Akita Boxer mix. He’s family friendly. As you can see, he’s a rather big dog; he’s grown. So, it would be a little bit hard for younger children; just because his tail will swipe. But, he’s kid friendly. He likes to be the only dog or pet in the house; he wants all the attention.”

In addition to ongoing adoption efforts, the Animal Shelter Society is also preparing for their annual Fall fundraiser.

“It is over at OUZ. It’s our annual Paws-N-Claws Fall Auction. We still have a few tickets available; they’re 25 dollars a piece. It’s a fun night; it’s a really nice night. The food is great, the comradery is good, and we have lots and lots of auction items to do. So, just come into the shelter or give us a call at the shelter.”

The Paws-N-Claws Fall Auction will be held Saturday, October 12 at Ohio University Zanesville.
