ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The community enjoyed vintage aircrafts and history at the Zanesville Municipal Airport Saturday afternoon.
The 7th annual Fly-in, Drive-in, and Car show featured many activities for community members of all ages. Activities include breakfast and lunch, a judged car show, and in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, a chance to ride a C-47 plane.
“We’re featuring a ‘Hairless Joe,’ a C-47 that dropped troops on its target in Normandy. And they’re giving rides today. The weather held off for us, and we had a really fantastic car show,” said EAA Chapter 22 Vice President, Tony Morozowsky.
Morozowsky said events like this are important to remind everyone of the airport and the great things it has to offer.
“We like to bring people around the awareness of the airport here. The City of Zanesville has a tremendous airport. A lot of the other cities around the country would just love to have an airport like this. We also want to bring awareness of the airplanes for the younger generations,” said Morozowsky.
The money raised from the event is used towards planning next year’s show.
