Adamsville Fire Department held their first Outdoors Bash

ADAMSVILLE, Ohio – The Adamsville Fire and E.M.S held a two day Outdoors Bash Friday and Saturday.

Friday, they had country artist Bryan Lewis put on a concert, and throughout the event they raffled off numerous items.

Adamsville Fire Chief, Dave Wortman said, “Well, this is our first annual outdoors bash. We started off last night with a free concert, trying to get some people out. Today, we are having a drawing every half hour, now I think it is every 15 minutes. We are giving away several prizes, guns, kayaks, tree stands, chainsaws, weed eaters, anything you can do outdoors, so that is why we are calling it Outdoors Bash.”

All of the money raised will help the fire department with training and equipment. Chief Wortman said those expenses keep rising, so the community helping out is great.

“It makes us feel a lot better. It makes us feel very appreciated when you see the community giving back to us. Last week the area churches, community churches did a church service for us and that was their way of giving back. A lot of those members showed up last night and supported us, but yeah just seeing the community come out and support events like this, makes us feel like when we get up at 3:00 am to come help, makes us feel it is all worthwhile,” Wortman added.

If you missed the Outdoors Bash, the Fire Department is already looking forward to next year’s, and hopes you are too.
