ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Some people fear superstition. The Zanesville Kiwanis Club’s Friday the 13th Club celebrates it.

“When you come in, you come in under the ladder, you see the umbrellas opened up inside,” says the Kiwanis Club’s Larry Good. Their meeting place at the Immanuel Church of Christ downtown displayed icons of superstition, having fun with the moment.

Zanesville City Schools Athletic Director Scott Aronhalt keynoted the lunch time meeting.
“Interesting, you know, to say the least and I think all of us, maybe we wouldn’t call them superstitions. But we all have little habits and things that we get into that maybe propel us or maybe send us on a negative path. This is a lot of fun. You know, I appreciate being around a group that’s very positive and then having the opportunity to share some of my little superstitions and habits. It’s always enjoying the bouncing of those things off other people,” Aronhalt said.

The Friday the 13th Club was started decades ago.
