ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum Recreation Center is offering several fitness classes for both kids and adults this Fall season.
Classes include the kids ninja program and kids splash water exercises. For adults, there is a Refit Revolution class which is a group exercise boosting energy to all through dance, toning, balance, and flexibility. Those interested in Refit Revolution can check out the demo Saturday, September 14th. The Rec Center will also start the new “Swim and Fit with Parent and Me” classes, where parents and their child can take swim lessons while also having fun in the pool.
“It’s important for all children to learn how to swim and feel comfortable in the water because you never know when you could be around that. And then also just to get excited about being active and fit because we all want to live healthy lifestyles as we progress in our age,” said Becky Weir, MRC Event and Program Manager.
The Rec Center is also looking for vendors for their antique, flea market, and craft show in October. Vendors are able to sell crafts, furniture, and accessories at the show. The purpose of the craft show is to raise money for the programs the center has to offer.
“Just a fun event for the community to come out. The funds that we do raise for it will help the facilities and also go towards youth programming. Possibly for kids that can’t afford to join in our group exercise classes that we’re offering. Or we want to purchase some equipment for them later on down the road,” said Weir.
To reserve space for the craft show or to sign up for classes just contact the Rec Center at (740) 454-4767.
