Wiggins, Brown, WHIZ Players of the Game This Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It’s the first week that we’re spotlighting the WHIZ Radio Player of the Game.

This week we put two players from different schools front and center to acknowledge their outstanding performance on the gridiron. Jamal Wiggins, of Zanesville High School; and Boston Black, of Meadowbrook High School both showed high performance values during their first games of the season last week, according to WHIZ Radio Play-by-Play announcer David Kinder.

“Probably the best thing he does is tell me to not sweat the small stuff. Forget the previous play because the most important play is the next one. … We even actually have a leadership council, so they even actually give us time to make sure the coach that’s for leadership. They want us to not just be good ball players, they want us to be good fathers. They want us to mature so they know football isn’t just a game,” says Wiggins.

Genesis Community Ambulance is sponsoring the MVL Player of the Game.

“It’s our philosophy, caring for the community. You know, we’ve been here for twenty-five years here in the community and it’s our pleasure to support the community in any way possible. The Player of the Game is one way that we can do that,” says Brad Gibson, Operations Supervisor at Community Ambulance.

Join us for the next eleven weeks as we pick an outstanding player from each game, broadcast live on AM1240 & Z92.7.
