Zanesville Man Running For City Auditor

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A Zanesville man has announced his intentions to run for City Auditor.

Andrew Body is a Muskingum University Honors graduate and a long time resident to the area, is running as a write-in candidate for City Auditor. He decided to run for the position because he believes it aligns with his background with political science and business. Body said he is looking forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the Auditor’s Office and ensuring that money is being spent wisely.

“We want to minimize waste of course. And that’s one thing with the “watch dog” aspect. The second, is I believe with my MBA I can provide some effective consulting to the city. And also I have some fresh perspectives how to get some grant money and some alternative pathways to finance that we’re not currently doing,” said Body.

Body added that he ultimately wants to be able to give back to the community through the role of City Auditor. Body also says the best way to get your voice and opinions heard is by electing the people who best represent your opinions. He encourages everybody to go out and vote in the upcoming elections.

“If you don’t go out and vote. If you stay at home and say somebody else is going to take care of this. Somebody else will put the people who need to be in office in office, we’ve seen before in several past elections that’s not how it necessarily works. Unexpected things happen, so you need to go out, you need to make your voice be heard. And put the people who need to be in office, in office,” he said.

Body is running against Dale Raines for City Auditor in the November 5th election. The elected official will replace Margo Moyer who has served as City Auditor since 1992.
