29th Annual Grace United Methodist Church Block Party

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Grace United Methodist Church hosted their 29th Annual Block Party today in front of the church on Shinnick Street.

Members from the church and the community came together as one to enjoy the event. Co-Chairmen Cindy Lawyer and Cynthia Tuck said today was a great day for the event, and they said this year was one of the best.

Tuck said “We hope to include the neighbors and the community as well as other churches and just have everybody come together to enjoy one another, have food, fellowship, music and we have a worship service to start. It is just a great celebration and today has been one of I think the best.” Lawyer added “The goal is really to bring not only the church family but the church community and those that are unchurched to come out and enjoy Grace Church, enjoy our fellowship and enjoy a beautiful day.

They said this was one of the best attendances they have had for the Block Party. Grace United Methodist Church Pastor, Mark Chow said they have a variety of fun for all ages at the event, great food, and it was simply a great time.

“Well, in addition to the lunch we have Two By Two playing music. We have a bounce house. we’ve got face painting. we’ve got all sorts of games for the children and youth.” Chow continued on to say, “I just want to say that we want to share God’s love with everyone and this is one way we want to do that.

The Outreach Committee said they try to have this event the last week of August each year. They thank everyone that came out to enjoy the event and the beautiful weather.
