ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Museum of Art hosted Free Family Day Saturday afternoon.

The event was themed Back to School, and children took part in four different stations creating all kinds of different art work. Zanesville Museum of Art Education Coordinator, Misty Johnson said each station was set up to teach children a different type of art.

“Our Free Family Day is underway. The theme of this Family Day is Back to School. We have four different make and take activities for kids of all ages that use school subjects like math, science and a little bit of drama to create art.”said Johnson.

The kids were enjoying the festivities and were creating some masterpieces. Johnson said this is their way of giving back to the community because it is a fun event that is completely free for the kids.

“So, these family days are actually one of the highlights of my job. I just love seeing the kids being amazed at what they make and just having a great time being creative and exploring different materials,” Johnson added.
