ZANESVILLE, Ohio – After a wonderful night of dueling pianos on August 2nd, the Muskingum County Community Foundation presented two local organizations Tuesday with checks from the money raised.
M.C.C.F Council President, Lisa Karling presented the checks this afternoon to Animal Shelter Society board members, and to a board member from Transitions. The check presentation took place this afternoon at the M-C-C-F building.
Animal Shelter Society Board President, Stephanie Hill said “Yeah, the support from the Community Foundation and really from the community, that came out to the dueling pianos event means a lot to the shelter. We rely solely on the support of the community to take care of the homeless animals from our community. So, this will go a long way to help us do that.”
The organizations received $1,500 from the event, and both boards say it will go a long way towards helping.
Transitions Board Member, Bridget Tetak said, “Well, really right now with our general fund being needed for grant matching. That will be most likely how the funds will be used which pays for our staff. It also pays for our utilities, our house to be operational. Also, to feed our residents, so right now we have both women and children present in the house. So, all of those day to day needs, are able to be met with donations such as these.”
Both board members were incredibly grateful for the community support at the event and their continued support.
