ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Library System always has events taking place for the community to enjoy, including art shows.
A hidden jewel at the John Mcintire Library is the Carnegie Wing Gallery. Located at the second floor of the library, you can enjoy the works of different artists. This month they are featuring the works of talented Columbus photographer, Robert Colgan. The Robert Colgan display called Structure: A Visual Survey, is at the Carnegie Wing all month long and showcases Colgan’s photography of architecture and history.
“This month we have an artist out of Columbus, and he has received the Ohio Arts Council Grants before of excellence. And he is actually showing beautiful works of architectural details and urban landscapes from across the world. And it’s such a beautiful show so I encourage everybody to come up and experience this show,” said Marketing and Community Relations Director, Sean Fennell.
Carnegie Wing Gallery features new shows every single month. Two upcoming shows will be the Rivertown Artworks show for September. Then in October, three photographers will be showcasing the nature photography taken throughout Muskingum County.
“We want to be able to have this type of experience available not only for local artists to show, but also for artists from across the state, or maybe outside of the state to bring in some different art into the community. It’s such an important part of the history of our community and we want to reflect and embrace that,” Fennell stated.
If you want the chance to meet the artist, Robert Colgan, he will be at the library on Saturday, August 16th at 3:30 p.m. for a meet and greet event.
