ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Eastside Community Ministry held their 13th annual golf tournament to raise money for the E.C.M Youth Program.

E.C.M Golf Tournament Chairman, Matt Schreiber said they had 20 teams register, which means about 80 golfers. The players teed off shortly before 1:00 pm, and it was all for a great cause.

“Community support is awesome for this event. It has grown each year. We have picked up sponsorships and just the amazing work that Eastside is doing with the youth, is shown by the support that the community gives. So, we can’t thank the community enough for everything that they do,” said Shreiber.

Before the tournament, they had a ball drop. It cost $20 to buy in, and they dropped the ball out of a basket and the ball that got closest to the hole won 50 percent of the buy in.

“We’re holding the ball drop, which is kind of like a half and half. You can buy a ticket for a chance of winning half the pot. $20 a ticket selling up to a maximum of 250 tickets and we will the balls from a ladder and the closest to the pin will win half the pot,” said Schreiber.

The golf tournament was definitely a success, the ball drop winner won 17 hundred dollars, and they look forward to the golf tournament next year.
