ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A large community sale took place Friday at the James Singer Center, and will continue on tomorrow.

The sale is being put on by the Alpha Psi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, in efforts to raise money for scholarship funds. The scholarships are for Muskingum County students majoring in education. The sorority are all former teachers, and that is why they are raising money to help out future teachers.

Past President of Delta Kappa Gamma, Barbara Zirke said, “We are all former teachers. Delta Kappa Gammas are for key women educators in the State of Ohio, actually we’re an international group and it just seemed like a really easy way to collect money. We give $500 scholarships to the area student teachers.”

They had all kinds of clothing, toys, movies, and more. All of the items being sold were donated by the chapter members.

“We have a lot of women’s clothing, men’s clothing, toys, bedding and just different kinds of silverware and dishes, things like that,” said Zirke.

If you missed today’s community sale that is okay, because they will be there again tomorrow from 9:00 AM till 1:00 PM at the James Singer Center.
