ZANESVILLE, Ohio- If you make your way to the grocery store this week, think about grabbing a cereal box or two to help the Eastside Community Ministries.
Summer is a busy time for their food pantry, as parents now need to provide their kids with all three meals. This has caused for the pantry to fall behind in their cereal supply.
“We are looking for donations of cereal. Summer time is here and we have a lot of children that are out of school, that are home now. Parents are going to have to provide them with breakfast, and lunch, and dinner, and so our food pantry gets very busy in the summer time. And as you can see we are almost out of cereal,” said Executive Director, Jamie Trout.
Jaime said the community has come together before for the pantry, and hopes they can rejoin once again to donate some cereal.
Trout added, “We’re here Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. They can stop in and donate, and give us a call on the phone. Last time we asked for cereal people were even shipping it to us, so if they are interested in doing that they can give us a call and we can tell them how to do that.”
You can call the Eastside Community Ministries at (740) 452-7519, or visit them online at www.eastsideministry.org, for more information on how to donate.
