ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Falls Township Fire Department is preparing for their annual Chicken Barbeque this Sunday on Father’s Day.

The Barbeque will start at 11 AM and go until they are sold out. Falls Township Fire Department Captain, Cody Johnson said they will 1,600 dinners to the community in probably only two hours.

“Sunday we are having our annual Chicken Barbeque. We do it every year on Father’s Day.” Johnson continued on to say, “we will have dine-in, here at station one and carry out, then carryout only at station two on Richey Road.”

The firefighters will serve half chickens, applesauce, coleslaw, chips, and dinner rolls for only nine dollars. Captain Johnson said while this event is a fundraiser, it is a lot more meaningful than just that.

“For us, it’s a little bit of a fundraiser, but for us it’s mostly the public relations.” Johnson added “In years past we used the money for different equipment and stuff that wasn’t previously budgeted for.”

Captain Johnson hopes the community comes out in bunches to support the local fire department.
