ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It is Adult Learner Week at Zane State College for those who are interested in attending.
Zane State College partnered up with the Muskingum Recreation Center and Century National Bank to have a week full of opportunities. Jody Spencer with Century National Bank said they are excited to provide a chance for those 20 years of age and up who apply to win their Simply Grand Scholarship.
“They can enroll and be eligible for a Simply Grand Scholarship from Century National Bank and we’re offering five $1,000 scholarships to help with the expenses for the next school year,” Spencer said.
Outreach and Recruiting Director at Zane State College Molly Dunn said they really wanted to gear the scholarship this year towards working adults so they can have the confidence going into school knowing they have some extra help towards tuition.
“We know in our community there’s a lot of adults out there that are in a job that they are just really tired of working at or they’re wanting to increase their skills so they can have more earning potential,” Dunn said.
The Muskingum Recreation’s Membership Manager Michele Waite said they are hosting the 20 and Up Event for anyone interested in attending college.
“Show up and be ready to take a tour if they would like to and with the understanding that students who are enrolled full time at Zane State College actually receive a free membership here at the Muskingum Recreation Center for the duration of that semester and they have the opportunity to upgrade for the other amenities as well,” Waite said.
The 20 and Up Event takes place at the Muskingum Recreation Center on Saturday, June 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. To learn more about the scholarship or the 20 and Up Event, head to the Zane State website.
