Farmers market season starts today

Local News

ZANESVILLE, Ohio– Today you could find vendors set up on North 4th Street in Zanesville. The farmers market helps to promote local agriculture products in nearby counties, helping make it more accessible for consumers.

You can find a wide selection of products, including produce, jams, Ohio cheese, baked goods, and more. Even though there are various items behind sold, it is a great way for vendors and the community to come together.

“Well we are trying to grow year around for vegetables that way we can provide food year around for our community, That is exactly why we are down here doing this”, said the owner of Wilson’s Family Farm, Casey Wilson.

The farmers market has been going on since 1975, and vendors keep returning year after year to come together as a community.

April from Thacker Hollow stated, “It is the community. Not just the community that I work with that buys my product, but the community of our farmers market is so strong”. Thacker added, “I have been with the Zanesville farmers market for a little while and having Wednesdays where our farmers are collaborating with our restaurants is really cool”.

You can find the farmers market here in Zanesville this summer on Wednesdays from 4 pm to 7 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm.
