A local food market that has been in business since 1910, has reopened it’s doors after relocating their business.
Rittberger Farm Fresh Market has been in Zanesville for 109 years, and president of Rittberger’s, Andy Rittberger said it’s great to be in a new location and to see where this will take the business. Andy Rittberger said he thinks his grandfather would be proud of where the business is at, but would quickly tell him to get back to work.
“Back in that day, I’m sure he would be happy and proud, but it was all about work. There was no time for play and it was all about work in the day. Pat you on the back and then lets get back at,” said Rittberger.
Rittberger’s has a great variety of deli meats, hand carved steaks, chicken, pork chops, burger meat and more. They also have a great selection of local sauces, honey, salsa, chips, and more. Almost everything Rittberger’s carries is from Ohio, and Rittberger said he thinks it goes a long way with customers, knowing that everything is coming from right here in Ohio.
Rittberger added, “There is a lot to be said about buying local. Almost exclusively, every product we have in this store almost is from Ohio. Several from Muskingum County and Zanesville. It’s about buying local and it’s about high quality. You know we will fresh cut the steaks and roasts, and pork chops, all of that right here in house.”
Andy Rittberger said he is looking forward to seeing the community come out to the new location at 3576 Maple Avenue.
