Local News Stories

The Cambridge Post of the Highway Patrol says a wrong-way driver caused a double fatal accident. It happened just after 3:30 am Thursday on I-77 near the Guernsey-Noble County line. Troopers say 33-year-old Megan Dunaway of Newark was driving southbound in the northbound lanes and struck another vehicle head-on. That vehicle was driven by 54-year-old Shelby Farkas of Lower Salem. Both Dunaway and Farkas were killed. A passenger in the Farkas vehicle, 18-year-old Adam Schilling of Beverly, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Southeastern Ohio Medical Center in Cambridge. The Patrol says the accident remains under investigation.
