ZANESVILLE, Ohio – There is a water valve leaking at the intersection of Military and Dresden Road.
The process to fix this leak will involve workers digging the area up and shutting down some roads on Tuesday, March 19th at 7:30 a.m. Superintendent of the Water Division Paul Mills said they want to take precautions and warn people of the possible effects.
“If the valve just needs a replace at the top, bolts put in or whatever, that’s fine that’ll be quick and easy. If we have to replace it then we will have to shut the water down,” Mills said.
At the same time, they will be doing a hot tap by Dresden and East Military Road but it will not affect any homes. They are asking members of the community that will be in these areas to use precaution while traveling.
“That valve has been leaking for a while so you want good valves in your system in case there is a water break in that area and you shut the certain section down and everything. The tie in on Dresden and East Highland, that’s going to be very important for the future because we ran a new line from Dresden all the way down to Linden so it’s going to circulate the water in there and better volume,” Mills said.
The westbound lane of Military Road will be closed from Dresden Road to Ed Road and the southbound lane of Dresden Road will be closed from Hale Road to Military Road. Mills said there is no timeline for these water line repairs but if you have any questions, give the City of Zanesville Water Maintenance Department a call at (740) 455-0631.
The following locations could possibly be without water during the repair:
