DRESDEN, Ohio – The Muskingum Valley League championship could be clinched outright in this week’s MVL Game of the Week as Tri-Valley hosts John Glenn.
The Little Muskies (17-3, 14-0) clinched at least a share of the league title with a win over New Lexington on Tuesday. It marked the eighth time in the last decade that they’ve won a part of the MVL crown. A win Friday would give it to them outright.
It’s been an impressive season for first-year head coach TJ Mitchell.
“Within the locker room we’ve always known what we are capable of. It’s great for the program right now to have a share of the title. We have guys that always want more and want to compete,” said Mitchell.
The Scotties (14-6, 12-2) still have an outside chance of winning a share of the league title. It starts with winning Friday’s game.
TV will look to avenge a 51-35 January loss to John Glenn. It will also be senior night for the Scotties.
Tri-Valley head coach Todd Mclaughlin says this group of seniors has been a special one.
“Watching them grow and developed as they mature in their high school career is very rewarding. I feel very fortunate to of worked with them the last several years. These three guys are a special group. Hopefully we can send them off the right way Friday night,” said Mclaughlin.
You can listen to Friday’s game on Z92 Radio and streaming online at whiznews.com. David Kinder and Greg Mitts have the call at 7:30.
