ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Zanesville-Muskingum County Convention and Visitors Bureau is already anticipating the upcoming operating season of the Lorena Sternwheeler.
The Lorena Sternwheeler is a popular attraction located at Zane’s Landing Park. The boat offers special events, lunches, dinners, and private charted cruises every year. The Convention and Visitors Bureau works the entire year promoting the Lorena Sternwheeler and building partnerships so they can put on the desired activities.
“So not only are there dinner cruises, and lunch cruises, and twilight cruises. But we also have partnerships this year with the Art Center and also with the library. So we will have some hands on activities for children and adults and teenagers. So we’re thrilled about that, so there are definitely some new things this year, some new activities when you ride the Lorena Sternwheeler,” said Vice President of Chamber of Commerce, Kelly Ashby.
Lorena Sternwheeler offers activities such as the Civil War Reenactment in July, pumpkin painting rides in September, and even “Steer the Boat Days” all season long, where you can be “Captain” for the day and steer the Lorena. Ashby said it’s important to let families know of the different activity options available to them right in their own backyard.
“So there’s just great things for families to do. And when it’s summertime, families are looking for things to do within the region or within their own backyard. So it’s important for us to let families know that the Lorena is a perfect attraction for them and a perfect little escape and getaway,” she said.
The season for the Lorena Sternwheeler kicks off the first weekend in June and goes through October.
