ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Winter weather continues to grip the state, making for hazardous driving conditions.

Captain Scott Comstock from the Zanesville Police Department reminds motorists to slow down on the roads and be careful. He said with the temperatures also fluctuating over the next few days areas could see melting and re-freezing so drivers need to use caution.

“Over the next few days we’re going to see quite a change in the weather which is going to result in a good bit of the snow melting, there will be some potential re-freezing in the morning and in the evenings,” said Captain Comstock.

Captain Comstock also said with the Super Bowl this weekend, anyone planning to drink needs to plan on having a safe way home.

“We would encourage them to take advantage if there’s going to be anybody consuming of either contacting one of the taxi companies or we also have a couple transportation network apps that are available in the area now servicing Zanesville,” said Captain Comstock.

Captain Comstock said they have planned for there to be more people to be out and about during game day and other agencies may also add additional patrol personnel.
