Fieldhouse taking donations for local teen

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Fieldhouse is asking the public for donations to help out a local teen.

The Fieldhouse’s Mick Amicone said that Rosecrans Lady Bishop Soccer player Emma Barry was involved in a serious accident just before Christmas on State Route 345. Emma sustained a traumatic brain injury along with broken bones and Amicone said right now she is at Grant Medical Center in Columbus with a long road to recovery ahead of her.

“They’re working on trying to do some things to get her lungs healed and then they’re going to work on some issues with her brain and they’re very positive and optimistic about both those situations,” said Amicone.

Amicone said they will be accepting gas cards along with donations at the Fieldhouse this weekend until noon on Sunday. He said once Emma is out of the hospital, there will still be many trips to and from Columbus during her rehabilitation. Amicone said he has been blessed enough to feel the community’s support over the years and wants to give back by helping the Barry family.

“So our family’s been through a couple rough patches over the last 10 years and we had an opportunity to feel the community’s grace and compassion toward us and so we just want to pass it on,” said Amicone.

Amicone asks everyone to keep the Barry family in their thoughts and prayers. He said anyone who would like to make a gas card or monetary donation can stop by the Fieldhouse and place it in the jar by the front desk before noon on Sunday.
