BYESVILLE, Ohio – We’ll get a rematch of last season’s regional championship game this Friday when Meadowbrook hosts John Glenn.
Last year in Athens Meadowbrook knocked off John Glenn 36-31 on their way to the state final four. Now the Muskies will get a chance for redemption.
John Glenn comes into the game 6-0 and they’ve only had one game that was decided by less than ten points. It’s been a fantastic start for first-year head coach TJ Mitchell.
“Overall I’m happy with the start we’ve had. I don’t think it’s unexpected. I think with the culture of this program you’re expected to compete every game. And that’s what we are doing,” said Mitchell.
The Little Muskies have done a nice job of spreading the wealth this season. Four players are scoring over six points per game, lead by Josh Raley who is averaging 13 a game.
This Meadowbrook team is 5-2. Both losses have been close ones on the road and were decided by fewer than five points. They lost all-Ohioan Trey Singleton to graduation. But they return a strong core of last year’s final four team.
Friday’s game tips off at 7:30 in Gurnesey County. You can listen to the game on Z92 Radio with David Kinder and Greg Mitts.
