ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It is time to take down the trees and decorations.
The City of Zanesville has their annual Christmas tree drop-off that is now available for residents until January 18th. They ask that people drop off their trees during daylight hours.
Jeff Johnson, Superintendent of Cemeteries and Parks said, “We get quite a few. We usually have two times that we come and pick the tree up throughout that time frame and we get quite a few trees.”
There are three drop-off sites in Zanesville, one is at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds, another is at the City of Zanesville Street Department and the third one is located at Maple Hill Park.
“Just drop your tree off and make sure that you get as much as the tinsel and stuff off the tree as you can,” Johnson said. “What the trees are used for, they’re taken to Burr Oak Lake Park and dropped in the water for habitat, to save the small fish.”
