Last Minute Holiday Shopping

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It is one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

On Sunday, December 23rd, there were people in and out of Colony Square Mall from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. buying last minute gifts for Christmas. Siblings, Theron and Anna Brown are in the Christmas spirit and were at the mall getting some gifts for their family.

“I’m definitely late, I was pretty busy but Sunday the Lord laid it on my heart to come out here so you know, it’s the gift of giving,” Theron Brown said. “It is. Today’s the day the Lord was made so we might as well share the gift of giving,” Anna Brown said.

Some people can’t decide on a gift, others are waiting for last minute deals or are simply just too busy to shop in advance. Jim Davis traveled from Oakland, Tennessee up here to Zanesville to visit family for the holidays.

“One, this is a tradition with my wife and myself. Having a tradition to come and take the grandkids, the granddaughters, out shopping a couple of days before Christmas. Secondly, traveling so far, it’s a convenience thing. I’d rather come here and shop then carry it all the way up from Tennessee,” Jim Davis said alongside one of his granddaughters. Scarlett Davis said, “I’m going to get something for my mom and dad and for my sister.”

At the end of the day, whether you are last minute shopping or not, there will be lots of presents and Christmas spirit to go around.
