ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The beloved Christmas book and movie the Polar Express will come to life right here in Zanesville.
Teresa Kocher from South East Area Transit said families will have the opportunity to explore Zanesville on one of the SEAT buses and have a Christmas adventure of their own. She said the tour will start at the Welcome Center before traveling around the city.
“Once they’re on the bus there will be a clue, we’ll start out with ZPD, they’re going to start at the Welcome Center, they’re going to read a clue for the following stop, which will be the Health Department, and so on and so forth,” said Kocher.
Kocher said this is their second year putting on the event after it was such a hit last year. She said getting to see the kids light-up during the drive is so rewarding.
“Oh we did it last year and we threw this together in about four weeks last year and the look on those children face…It’s not Polar Express, but it’s a good secondary time for this time of year and the magic of Christmas,” said Kocher.
Kocher said the event event runs from 4 until 7 on Saturday the 15th. She said the whole event is free but tickets will need to be picked up at the Welcome Center before loading onto the buses. She said there will also be activities at the center for children to do before and after the tour.
