ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It was a very special day for some local students.

The Rotary Club sponsored their annual Christmas party Tuesday, December 11th at Adornetto’s Pizza for students from Zanesville City Schools. This is for students at the schools who may be less fortunate or have special needs.

Kyle Witucky, President of the Zanesville Rotary Club said, “Very blessed to be a part of this club, to be able to give back to the community this way. We are engaged in a number of fundraising activities through the communities including the 12 Days of Tickets Sales right now and it’s great that we can take those fundraising dollars and pour them back into our community and support the kids who are most in need here right here in Zanesville.”

The Rotary Club has been hosting this Christmas party since 1920. The purpose was to celebrate Christmas and to brighten their holiday season.

“Seeing the excitement on the kid’s faces when they open the gifts. So we’ll have a special guest here today, Santa Clause will come in and deliver the packages to the kids and to see them open up the gifts and just the sheer excitement on their faces,” Witucky said.

They gave each kid about three presents and there was everything from footballs to remote control cars and helicopters.
