ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It is the first year that “A Storybook Christmas” is giving the community an opportunity to tour downtown churches.
The downtown Zanesville church walk will be happening on Friday, December 7th from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will give people the opportunity to tour 7 churches and discover the beauty and history of each.
Blair Tom, Information Specialist at the Zanesville-Muskingum County CVB said, “I think it really highlights the reason that we celebrate the season for many people and also it’s just such a beautiful part of our downtown, a historic part of our downtown and our heritage.”
This tour is open to the public and is free for people to attend. There is going to be time throughout the evening to speak with people who are a part of the different churches and ask questions.
The different churches are; Market Street Baptist Church, Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran, Central Trinity United Methodist, Immanuel Church Downtown Zanesville, Union Baptist, and Central Presbyterian.
“Many of us don’t have the opportunity to see the indoors of a variety of churches because we may be attending our own particular church and so it’s really a wonderful opportunity to just see the beautiful architecture and the beautiful decorations and celebrate the season,” Tom said.
Saint Thomas Aquinas Church will be having a service at 7 p.m. that evening so they ask that people join the service or enjoy the tour around that time. To learn more information about the Christmas tour you can call the CVB at (740)455-8282 or under events on the visit Zanesville website.
