ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you’re in the spirit of giving this holiday season and are looking for a way to help, look no further.

The Muskingum County Recreation Center is hosting a winter clothing drive and will donate all items collected to Toys for Tots. They are accepting items such as hats, gloves, scarves and socks for children, from infant sizes up to teen sizes.

Eric Waltemire and employee at the Muskingum Recreation Center said, “Also toys that are not wrapped in wrapping paper, to bring those in and drop those off and those will be distributed to families that need assistance for Christmas.”

Items must be brand new with the tag still on and you can take them to the drop off box at the Muskingum Recreation Center. If you would like to make a monetary donation they will accept those at the front desk.

“For the hats and scarves and the gloves and things, the mittens, it’ll help kids keep warm this winter. It may seem like a small token but those things are so important when you’re out there in the cold and to help them stay warm,” Waltemire said.

They are accepting items until Friday, December 14th. If you are interested in dropping off items, the Muskingum Recreation Center is open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
